Well, as ya’ll know, a lot has been going on with the Cowboys. JByrd and I just got back from a week of shows in the great state of Texas and Oklahoma. This was a tour that Paul was so excited to play. He kept reminding me how frustrating it was not to be able to meet all the wonderful folks and play new venues, particularly Blue Rock & Fischer Fest.
Jonathan and I have gone on the road as a duet in the past, however it was strange not having our good friend with us -holding down not only the bottom but as JByrd puts it: “Paul is like the adult of the ensemble”. He goes out and is so good at being with the people, talking to the fans. It’s part of his unique skill set.
At every show his picture (courteousy of Lisa Macintosh) was placed with a votive on a chair at upstage center and Jonathan returned home with his pay at the end of the run. That, along with gifts and cards from his fans and friends on the road put a great big smile on Paul’s face. Thank You Texas & Oklahoma!
It was a great run for us and such a pleasure to meet so many new fans and get to hang out with old friends. At Blue Rock near Wimberly, TX, Billy & Dodee and their fabulous video and sound crew produced a great video of our show that we are looking forward to checking out and Rodney Bursiel took some awesome superhero pics of us. We drove home from Texas in one day and had some home time and visits with Paul and his wife for a couple days, then hit the road to play my hometown, Pittsburgh, PA.

Last night we spread the Byrd in Penfield, NY and tonight we’re rockin’ Ithaca at the Bound For Glory show. Hope everyone has lovely Thanksgiving. Keep praying for Paul.
See ya’ll down the trail,
